What a gracious (and courageous) outpouring of the Holy Spirit! Lived evangelism in my book.

Let’s not get too carried away over a staged event with a soundtrack overlay. It is beautiful though.

It was beautiful, but the ending was all wrong. Everybody went back to doing what they had been doing as if nothing had happened. The right ending would have had them all exchanging paschal greetings and kisses of peace.

Well, let’s appreciate it for what it is. It reminds me of the versions of Christos Anesti by Greek pop singers. It’s beautiful and inspiring in a way, but it’s the “pop” version of spirituality, not what you’re supposed to get in church. Not that that’s a bad thing. People have different tastes. What impresses me is more spontaneous demonstrations of piety. Though it is also superficial, I am also moved by soccer fans during the Paschal season shouting back and forth “Khristos voskres – – Voistinu voskres!” Every little bit helps. There’s nothing wrong with any of it, appreciating it for what it is. Even the pop version does further, to some extent, the cause of the Church since it makes it more acceptable and normal in the culture. Obviously the music wasn’t just being treated as art but also as an affirmation of the meaning of the words.

It’s called a Flash Mob and it’s done everywhere. It’s supposed to be a “candid” happening, to surprise other pedestrians, and it’s often done in a mall. They begin, they sing – and sometimes dance – then it’s over and everyone goes back to what they were doing. It’s a real trip! Meant to startle, entertain, then amuse and confuse the on-lookers! Just enjoy for what it is.
And, btw, “Christ is Risen”! >Indeed He is Risen!<
