I<\/span> am Cecil from whom you turn aside
\nwhen my insides are taken out,
\nnot as yours when you came forth
\non your own clock timed to stars
\nfor your appearance – once upon a time
\nyou have no memory of – carefully kept
\nexact as you were inside a careful world
\ncarefully prepared for your summons
\nto this one, roaring with outrage at sudden
\nlight and unfamiliar touch of the one
\nmost familiar whom you had not yet touched
\noutside the anteroom she prepared
\nfor your entrance. I am Cecil, not
\na nameless cache of liver, lungs
\nand limbs dismembered before
\nthe memory of me comes forth.<\/p>\n
