Codex Sinaiticus as described is the most preserved compared to Vaticanus. Vaticanus, I believe was one of the bibles commission by Constantine I. St. Catherine’s has lot of old manuscripts in several ancient languages, I believe Greek, Coptic, Syriac, Latin, or even old Slavic. The walls surrounding St Catherine’s were built during Justinian’s reign and every ruler has left St. Catherine alone whether they were Muslim, Crusader, Turk, British, and Arab. Anyway, think how a treasure like that was preserved for centuries-maybe God had something to do with it.
