Three articles on the economic meltdown in Greece

One article is even from the Huffington Post, which (almost) invariably confuses moral posturing with clear thinking.

Send money to Greece? Have you lost your marbles? Sidney Morning Herald

Cleaning up Greece’s Augean Stable Huffington Post. Note the fourth to last paragraph about potential cooperation between Russia and Greece.

Man who broke the Bank of England, George Soros, ‘at centre of hedge funds plot to cash in on fall of the euro’ London Daily Mail.

BTW, did you know more Americans read the online versions of English newspapers than the English?

March 9 – Mark your Calendars. Obama will be hosting Papandreou at the White House for Greek Independence day. Lets remember that last year’s festivities gave us the spectacle of Archbishop Demetrios comparing Obama to Alexander the Great.

It case anyone forgot, here is the article and video:

You have to wonder if the GOA media team learned anything after last year’s debacle. You also have to wonder what type of tone the GOA will strike this time around. Will we have humility in light of the Greek meltdown? Or is the GOA not going to pass up an opportunity to worship some politicians as is the norm?

Maybe AOI readers can help the folks at East 79th Street out and suggest Greek historical figures to compare Obama and Papandreou to.

I’m thinking of some petty tyrants of the immediate post-Golden Age period. Names escape me. Point being? Eminently forgettable.

I canceled home delivery. The paper always arrived wet. 😀
