Alyosha, I struggle in the same way. I try to remember that one way in which God is good is that He does not make His mercy or salvation dependent on how we feel. Those blessings continue even when we fall into the inward hole. And even our boring routine can become prayer in action if we carry it out with love as a humble offering to Him. In this way and in many others, He allows us to know redemption and peace in the midst of the world’s chaos and futility.

This article spoke to me, although there was much I couldn’t comprehend. Patricularly in the article where it states being trapped and stuck in a boring meaningless routine and feeling ordinary, afraid to try the extraordinary for fear of failure, is something that I have been feeling for quite awhile. In addition, the author of this article mentions feeling, like the book’s authors, something big missing from his life. That’s what I have been struggling with for the past seven years. It has been my prayer – more like a desperate plea – for Jesus Christ to fill this big hole within me. The question I really want answered from the Alpha and the Omega is simply this, “how may I best maximize my potential (physically, mentally, and spiritually) for His kingdom here on earth?” In other words, when the Lord created me in His image, what were His plans for my destiny – my existence lived to its fullness here on this planet? I encourage all on this day of Roe v. Wade to pray and fast and read Proverbs 7 for those holy innocents that have died since 1973 and continue to do so.
