Its the halfs versus the half-not countries. Doesn’t Bartholomew praise the Byzantine Empire that had more wealth than Western Europe until about 1100 or so. One standard for modern wealthly countries and another for ancient wealthy countries. Also, if he wants to use clean techinology why not proposed the building of several aqaueducts. Aqaueducts can also generate hyro-electorical power. The Owens valley in the Los Angeles area brought a lot of water, so now 10 million people could live there and it generates some hyro-electric power. After all, the Romans were the first to perfect it.
