Dean, in another post, I stated that the Guatemalans deserved good bishops. +Nathaniel is what I had in mind. I pray that the archimandrites that are bringing them in remain in place as a buffer betweeen these new Orthodox and the bishop who in charge of Central America. These Slav archimandrites appear serious.
]]>Where do we find MORE bishops like this? That’s the REAL question.
There’s no wonder why some of the other bishops turn pale when His Eminence’s name is even mentioned.
AXIOS!!!
Best Regards,
Dean
The bones of those martyrs streamed myrrh, there is popular veneration, they painted icons, made new services to them, people go on pilgrimages, books about their lives have been written, with all the facts and details. The Romanian bishops are still waiting …
His Enimence +Nathaniel is criticized by those who put the equal sign between ethnicity and Orthodoxy. I think that the set up of the ethnic dioceses in the OCA was a very wise decision. The Russian Church with its many millions of New Martyrs and Confessors, can take up the challenge of our times. As everywhere else, there are divisive forces in ROCOR and in the Moscow Patriarchate, but the canonization of the new Saints is a huge accomplishment. The saints unite us, while the people of this world disunite us.
