Vladimir,
I noticed the same thing. I’m not sure if this passed through Russian or is word for word from Met. Jonah in English. If it passed through Russian, or if Met. Jonah speaks Russian and gave the interview in that language, it may explain the remark. Sometimes/often Russian to English translations aren’t too great. You have to make these guesses quite frequently if you read Interfax/religion. However, the rest of the article was pretty clear . . .
]]>This man, Metropolitan Jonah, doesn’t need to be a metropolitan…he needs to be a PATRIARCH! Maybe someone will suggest that at the upcoming Episcopal Assembly. I’d do it, but I wasn’t invited.
The American saints are surely smiling.
AXIOS!
Dean
