The Russian Orthodox Patriarch should have the right to express his views in the Ephraim case. The Patriarch of Constantinople is being unreasonable and autocratic in asserting that the Russian Orthodox Church should not “interfere” by expressing its opinion in this state-related situation.
Indeed, the Patriarch of Constantinople needs to realize that he is the “first among equals” with respect to the other autocephalous Orthodox Patriarchs — and not the “Pope” of the Eastern Orthodox Church.
