Green Patriarch on YouTube

Clips from Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s various environmental symposia are now on YouTube. This first video is from the patriarch’s address in Santa Barbara, Calif., in 1997 which, the accompanying text says, “was the first time any religious leader had ever called harming the environment a sin.” The second video is from former Vice President Al Gore’s welcome in Washington during the same 1997 visit. 1. Ever notice in all the PR there is not one mention of the EP’s Havana Visit? I bet there is video of the EP and Castro out there. Anyone have it?

Well, we have debated about the enviromental issue here several times. Now Patriarch Bartholomew probably is an admirer of Byzantium. He sees those ancient ruins a lot more than we do since he lives there. And Byzantium never stop building because of certain animal species or so forth. Not that I’m anti-animal, I just image this was true of ancient Constantnople.
