Ancient Faith Radio presents Frederica Mathewes-Green speaking at the second annual Pan-Orthodox Sanctity of Life Sunday Presentation. The presentation was sponsored by the Orthodox Christian Clergy Association of Greater Chicago and took place at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Cicero, Illinois.

I love listening to Frederica and she usually relates an idea that many people relate too. I think her story on how her she changed her mind was good and good use of early church writings and early imperial period fathers like Basil and John Chrysostom. Frederica defintely has her own beliefs on different subjects. Anyway, she stated that Augustine came up with the 40 days of the soul but didn’t approve of abortion. This man had a rocky young manhood and fathered a child out of wedlock with his mistress. Anyway, Augustine didn’t have the son aborted.

Yes, its been some time since I read the Confessions. I read it in English of course not latin. The City of God I read up to only chapter 11 since the only copy was on the internet and couldn’t find it in the library.
